JACQUES DROUIN PINSCREEN ANIMATION MASTERCLASS
SATURDAY 27 AUGUST 3:30PM
Limited places available.
Jacques Drouin is one of the world's top animators, historian,
ambassador for the National Film Board of Canada (NFBC) and a
master of the unique technique of pinscreen animation. Jacques
came to the NFBC in 1973 and developed a fascination for the painstakingly
slow and meticulous beauty that could only be made with using
the Alexieff-Parker pinscreen for animation. His second and most
well-known film 'Mindscape', made in 1976 (and screening at LIAF
in the best of the NFBC classics session) has won 18 awards at
international festivals and he has completed several others since,
his latest combining the pinscreen with computer animation.
This masterclass will be your only chance to see Jacques in action
with his pinscreen who has travelled over from Montreal especially
for LIAF.
